ADULT USE
COMPOSITION Each 20 mg tablet contains:
Tamoxifen Citrate ……………………………………………………  20.4 mg
(equivalent to 20 mg of tamoxifen)
excipients ………………………………q.s.p

1 coated tablet
(lactose monohydrate, sodium starch glycollate, povidone, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate,
lactose, titanium dioxide, hypromellose, macrogol).

II) INFORMATION TO THE PATIENT
1. WHAT IS THIS MEDICINE INDICATED FOR?

Tamoxifen citrate is indicated for the treatment of breast cancer.

2. HOW DOES THIS DRUG WORK?
Continuous use of Tamoxifen Citrate inhibits the growth of breast cancer. these benefits
appear to be independent of age, menopausal stage and drug dose.

3. WHEN SHOULD I NOT USE THIS DRUG?
You should not use Tamoxifen Citrate in the following situations:
– Allergy to tamoxifen citrate or any of the components of the medicine.
– If you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant or breastfeeding.

4. WHAT SHOULD I KNOW BEFORE USING THIS MEDICATION?

Tamoxifen Citrate should be used with caution in the following situations:
– In patients in the pre-menopausal period, as menstruation may stop.

– In patients using hormonal contraceptive methods to prevent pregnancy, as some may
affect the effect of tamoxifen citrate.

– In patients with vaginal bleeding or other gynecological symptoms (such as pelvic pain) that
are taking or have ever taken tamoxifen citrate. Some changes may occur in
lining of the uterus (endometrium), including cancer.
Tamoxifen citrate may increase the risk of microvascular graft complications in surgery
delays in breast reconstruction.
Tamoxifen Citrate is not expected to affect the ability to drive and use machines.
However, fatigue (tiredness) has been reported with the use of tamoxifen citrate and care should be taken when
driving vehicles and operating machinery while this symptom persists.
Tamoxifen Citrate should be used with caution in patients taking
anticoagulants (eg warfarin), chemotherapy, rifampicin and antidepressants selective inhibitors of
serotonin reuptake (eg paroxetine).
Tamoxifen citrate should not be used at the same time as aromatase inhibitors such as
anastrozole, letrozole and exemestane.
This medicine should not be used by pregnant women without medical advice. Inform
your doctor immediately if you suspect that you are pregnant.
This medicine can cause doping.
Tell your doctor or dentist if you are taking any other medication.
Do not use medication without the knowledge of your doctor. It can be dangerous for your health.
This medicine contains lactose monohydrate (71,300 mg/tablet of tamoxifen citrate 10
mg and 142,600 mg/Tamoxifen Citrate 20 mg tablet)

5. WHERE, HOW AND FOR HOW LONG CAN I STORE THIS MEDICATION?
Tamoxifen citrate should be kept at room temperature (between 15-30ºC), protected from light and
moisture.
