Anastrozole is indicated for the treatment of early and advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
How it works
Anastrozole belongs to a class of drugs called aromatase inhibitors. This means that anastrozole interferes with some actions of aromatase, a substance that affects the level of certain female sex hormones, such as oestrogens. Reducing blood levels of the hormone estradiol is known to have a beneficial effect in postmenopausal women who have breast cancer. In postmenopausal women, anastrozole at a daily dose of 1 mg produced estradiol suppression greater than 80%.

Contraindications
Anastrozole is contraindicated for:

How to use
